霧島留美子 Rumiko Kirishima
● プロフィール
大阪府生まれ、大阪・横浜育ち。
明治学院大学・フランス文学科卒業。
大学在学中より独学で、油彩やアクリル絵具で絵を描き始める。
フリーのイラストレーターとして、単行本・文庫本の表紙イラスト・CDジャケット画などの仕事を経験する。
2006年より夫の海外赴任のため、アメリカ（テキサス・ケンタッキー・ミシガン州）５年間在住。
その間も、アメリカ大陸の珍しい動植物や鳥などの美しい色や形に刺激を受け、「自然のかたち」をテーマに作品を制作し、2011年に帰国する。
現在は自宅アトリエにて、花・植物・貝・海の生物・鉱物などの多種多様な色や形にインスパイアされた幻想的で、神秘的なイメージの油彩作品を日々制作している。

About Artist
Rumiko Kirishima is a self taught artist based in Japan.
Born in Osaka, Japan.
Raised in Osaka and Yokohama.
Graduated from Meiji Gakuin University, majoring in French literature.
Began studying the techniques for oil and acrylic paintings by herself while she was a university student.
Worked as an assistant and a freelance illustrator.
Moved to the United States for her husband's work in 2006 and lived in Texas, Kentucky and Michigan for 5 years.
During the time, created new work, inspired by beautiful colors and shapes of unique American plants and birds.
Currently living in Japan, and creating oil paintings with the theme "nature forms".
About Her Paintings
She has produced many pieces of imaginative art with a theme "nature forms".
She always feels a sense of wonder when she looks at various forms and colors in nature, such as plants, flowers, sea life, sea-shells and minerals.
She creates her work inspired by them with using a full of her imagination.
The most important theme for her paintings is to express sensitivity and wonder to see the mystery of nature.
